We offer personal service and our staff can cook and talk to you knowledgeably about our ingredients and products and those that we retail. All of our produce is labelled for gluten and all of our UK produce is labelled by 'food miles' from the producer and county they are made. In many cases, these producers are our colleagues at farmers market. To read more about our food provenance click here
Unless it's a Friday morning don't expect to see lots of Sara's Homemade Faggots in Caremelised Onion Gravy or her Steak & Cattthorpe Praetorian Porter Pies anymore than you would if you visit your Gran expecting tea and Victoria sponge cake without letting her know you are coming. So, if you are coming a distance and fancy something in particular like truffles, wild boar or fresh veal it pays to ask. We're not T&*co!
On the other hand, if you are looking for homemade food made with quality local ingredients without additives or artificial preservatives and an alternative to processed food from who-know-where then Squisito might just be the kind of shop you would like.
“It was an absolute pleasure to meet you and your family the other day. It was like finding
a treasure trove in the middle of the bush.” Tom
Disappointed by supermarket fish Squisito started 'Fish On Fridays' - a fresh approach to fish. As you probably know, good fresh fish is pretty damned scarce in Rugby, Daventry, Lutterworth and Northampton so we call on our friends with UK owned and UK manned boats in Cornish waters. Choice will be limited to what is caught by the boats of Port Isaac and Newlyn rather than what can be frozen at sea but it is fresh. To read "How your supermarket 'fresh' fish can be THREE weeks old" click here
Being a little village shop in the furthest place from the sea that means Squisito take orders from our regular customers by email or phone. To find out what fish is available this Friday and what you can order for next Friday click here
